Pastor Hoots was born in northeast Mississippi in 1957 and was born again by the grace of God in 1976. His call to the ministry came shortly thereafter and now consists of over 31 years of pastoring. Fourteen of those years were spent in south Louisiana, where he earned his Bachelor of Religious Education in 1986 from Bethany Bible College and Seminary in Dothan, Alabama. He became the pastor of East River in September of 1995.
Our pastor and his wife Cindy have been married since 1977 and have been blessed with five children, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. His vision for our church is simple and Scriptural---to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ both locally (various church ministries) and globally (missionaries around the world).
We feel that our pastor is a gifted pastor-teacher with a shepherd's heart. He loves the Lord, and he loves us. Likewise we love and pray for him. If you believe the Bible, allow us to encourage you to attend a church that preaches and teaches the same and to come experience our church family.
