Born in Missouri in 1952, he was reared in the rural town of Manchester. After graduating from high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was saved by the grace of God in May of 1980, while stationed in Alaska. He separated from the military in 1981 and surrendered to the preaching ministry in February of 1982.
He and his wife, Debbie, were married in 1972. They have two children and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities at East River, he also serves as chaplain for both the New Caney Fire Department, and MCHD EMS service.
