East River Baptist Church
Where will you be next year?
What about in 100 years?
Did you know that it is possible to KNOW the answer to that question?
The Bible tells us in I John 5:13 " These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life..."
You don't have to wonder or hope. You can know. Let me ask you the most important question you'll ever be ask; If you were to die today, where would you spend eternity?
Some would say "I hope heaven."
Others say," I've been good, I'm sure God will let me into heaven."
Or maybe you've attended church all your life and done many great things. Did you know that those things will not gain you entrance into heaven?
The Bible shows us that in order to go to heaven we must be born-again.
Jesus tells us in John 3:7,   " Ye must be born again."
The Bible gives a clear plan of how to be born-again, which means to be saved. It's really very simple. You can be saved today.

How can you be saved?
First, you must realize that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:23 " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:10 " As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one."
You must repent, which means you agree with God that you are a sinner and that you believe Jesus died to pay for your sins.

Because of our sin, we are condemned to death. This is eternal separation from God in a literal Hell.
Romans 6:23 " For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Here's the good news, God loves you so much that He paid the price for you.
John 3:16 " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Romans 5:28 " ...God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinned,Christ died for us."

Although we might not understand all that happened when Jesus died on the cross for us, God tells us that Jesus became our substitute. He bore all of our sin on the cross.

The next step is to ASK Him to forgive you of your sins and to be your Savior.
Romans 10:13 : For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved."
Romans 10:9 " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
John 5:24 " Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

That's all there is to it, my friend. Simple really, but the most important thing you'll ever do.
Don't let fear, pride and unbelief keep you from knowing the answer to the question, "where will you spend eternity?." All you have to do is accept it now.

If you have chosen to accept Jesus as your Savior, we would love to hear about it and send you more information showing you how you can grow as a new Christian. Or if you have questions, we are here to help. Please contact us.
